Number 36, High Street, was Axbridge’s former Red Lion Inn for at least 250 years and has been lovingly and sensitively converted from a nearly derelict state from 1997.
The house has been a great success since it became available to rent for holidays and weekend breaks, and has featured in magazines and on television, mainly for it quirky and eclectic style encompassing antique via vintage to contemporary. It has open fires (even a pretty little Georgian one in the bathroom), a 4000 book library, a pool table and cocktail bar (it’s still genetically a pub!) and, uniquely, a vintage cinema.
We still welcome our holiday and weekend guests (and it is a great place for a holiday) but have recently added a business element, following requests via our Airbnb listing. Having worked in the corporate world and spent many long days in front of PowerPoint presentations in dull surroundings, we have served our time in such events, and know from experience that we can offer something a bit different!
If you’d just like to come and have a look, please call to arrange a visit – you’d be most welcome!
